Who runs this

ApneaAuthority is run by TKTK_NAME. TKTK — one or two honest sentences about why you built this. If there's a personal reason, say it; if it's a business, say that instead. Do not invent a story.

I am not a clinician, and this site does not pretend to be one. What it does is publish specifications, coverage and billing information, and provider listings, with a source attached to each claim.

You can reach me at TKTK_EMAIL. If you've found something wrong, I'd rather hear it than not.

How information gets published

Specifications come from manufacturer documents. Not from retailer listings, not from review sites, not from memory. Every record in the 32-mask and 30-machine databases carries the document it came from and the date it was checked.

Unknown is written as unknown. When a manufacturer doesn't publish a figure, the field reads "Not published." We do not estimate, and we do not quietly omit the row so the page looks more complete.

Coverage and billing information cites the payer's own policy. Where no published policy exists, we say that rather than summarising something else.

Tools describe, they don't diagnose. The mask finder rules out masks by physical design and explains its reasoning. It doesn't recommend a best mask, interpret your therapy data, or suggest a pressure setting. Those are questions for the clinician managing your care.

How this is funded

Two ways, and you should know both.

Affiliate commission. Some links to retailers earn a commission on purchases. This never affects which products are listed, what is said about them, or the order they appear in — the databases are ordered alphabetically or by design attribute, never by what pays.

Featured directory listings. Practices can pay to be featured on a city page. Featured listings are labelled as featured and appear above unclaimed ones. Payment does not determine whether a practice is listed at all, and it does not buy a recommendation — we make no quality judgements about any practice and say so on every directory page.

What we don't do: accept payment to write about a product, publish sponsored content presented as editorial, or sell information about visitors.

Provider listings

Listings are compiled from public provider registry data and from practices' own websites. Inclusion is not an endorsement, and a listing that hasn't been confirmed by the practice says so.

If you're a practice and something is wrong, email me and I'll correct it. If you'd rather not be listed, email me and I'll remove it the same day, without asking why.

What this isn't

This is not medical advice, and it isn't a substitute for the clinician managing your therapy. Sleep apnea is diagnosed with a sleep study, and treatment decisions belong with a qualified professional who knows your case.

If something here contradicts what your clinician has told you, believe your clinician and tell me what we got wrong.
